Lisa Smith Wagner/Founder and President

Lisa spent most of her sales and marketing career with Sunrise Senior Living. She is married and the mother of two wonderful adult sons and one lovely daughter-in-law. She’s a graduate of Radford University and Founding Member of the Delta Zeta Chapter at RU. She’s written two books titled Treasures of a Nurse’s Heart: My Mother’s Memoirs of Love and Wisdom for Everyday Life; Treasures of a Teacher’s Heart: Learning to Change the World with Our Own Two Hands; and recently helped her younger son, Eric, write and publish his first book titled Leaving It on the Road: A Memoir about riding his bicycle across the United States with his father.  She’s an avid runner, writer, and lover of all things outdoors. 

Michele Meyer/Vice President and Community Outreach

Michele spent most of her career in aviation as a commercial and corporate Flight Attendant. She is married and the mother of two adult children.  She is a graduate of Bay Path University with a degree in Travel Administration. Michele has spent many years as a volunteer in her community. Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Committee member, Meals on Wheels volunteer and various positions in the school system are just a few of her many hours dedicated to giving back.  She is excited about the growth of this venture, privileged to work alongside this extremely brilliant team and shares in the dedication for women empowering women.  Michele enjoys spending quality time with her busy family, traveling as much as possible and keeping a positive outlook on life.  

Martha M. Smith/Secretary

Martha moved from Florida to Pennsylvania in August 2016. She has two wonderful children and six beautiful grandchildren whom she adores. Martha had a long and rewarding forty-four year career working as a nurse. She truly loves helping people. After she retired, she volunteered in the juvenile prison system helping young people. Upon moving to Pennsylvania, she was looking for something to further her volunteer work and found it in Helping Hearts & Handbags, Inc. She is very excited about participating in such a worthwhile charity.

Grainne Kahan/Treasurer

Grainne was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and moved to New Jersey in her early twenties. After spending almost 20 years as a dental coordinator, she retired last year. She has been married for 33 years and has two adult sons; the eldest works in Manhattan and his younger brother is in his final year at Rutgers University. She is an avid traveler and has traveled extensively through Europe and Eastern Europe. When Grainne found out about Helping Hearts & Handbags, Inc. she immediately volunteered to help such a wonderful cause. She and her husband live in Flanders with their dog, Deegan.

 

 

Linda Gutman/Grant Research Coordinator and Fundraising

Linda had a 30 year career at Morristown Medical Center as a registered nurse in the operating room.  She graduated from Indiana University with a BA degree in Philosophy and also has an A.S in Nursing from the  County College of Morris. She is the mother of 3 sons Ian, David, and Daniel and two lovely daughters in law, Ellen and Carla, and 3 grandchildren. She wishes to join the board as this is an important cause and she welcomes the opportunity to contribute where it counts most. Her hobbies include travel and spending time with family and friends. 

 

Linda Fuller/Community Relations

Linda has been married for 30 years and has 2 beautiful children, Matthew and Lindsay. After finishing her career of fifteen years as a stay at home Mom, she began a new career in transportation as a school bus driver where, for thirteen years, she has continued caring for children ensuring that they get back and forth to school safely with a smile and kind word.  She has also worked in various positions in the transportation office.

Linda is an active member and volunteer at her church.  She always is looking to be a helping hand for anyone who needs one. When Linda was asked to join Helping Hearts and Handbags Inc. Board of directors, it was an instant yes.  She is looking forward to being part of such an amazing cause.

In her free time Linda loves to kayak and hike with her family and friends.  Linda is an avid gardener and especially enjoys spending time with her dogs.  When time permits you'll find her at the beach.
